Kerry Way | Why visit Ireland

Kerry Way | Why visit Ireland

There is no denying that Ireland is a walker’s paradise, with spectacular mountain trails, national parks and endless coastal walks. People flock from all over the world in their drives to enjoy a walking holiday in the emerald isle. There is no mystery why people love to explore and walk the hills and valleys of Ireland, as she has it all. Come and see for yourself.

Since we, here at Goggins trips and tours, are located in Ballinskelligs, county Kerry, let me speak a little more about the “Kerry way”. This is one of the most beautiful routes in the whole county, if not the most. The “Kerry Way” is a loop of the whole county of Kerry. Below there is a list of the different sections off the Famous Kerry Way.

  • Killarney to Black Valley
  • Black Valley to Glencar
  • Glencar to Glenbeigh
  • Glenbeigh to Caherciveen
  • Caherciveen to Waterville
  • Waterville to Caherdaniel
  • Caherdaniel to Sneem
  • Sneem to Kenmare
  • Kenmare to Killarney

Most parts of the “Kerry Way” walk are easy to moderate in dry conditions; however it can get quite demanding under wet conditions.

It crossed my mind the other day to take a few shots of the “Kerry way” between Cahirciveen and Waterville and create a sneaky preview of a part of the Kerry way between Waterville and Caherdaniel. On last Monday evening, I set out to capture some images that will give you an idea of the natural beauty that exists here in south Kerry, and of what you should expect to see on the Kerry way.
